little details go a long way 〰

It’s the little details that transform a functional coop into a space that feels intentional and beautiful. Thoughtful touches like the soft paint color, classic trim work, and a beautiful light fixture elevate the design while keeping it practical and inviting. Each choice—from the hardware to the finishes—adds character and charm, proving that even a chicken coop can be both hardworking and stylish. These finishing details not only bring the structure together visually but also make it a place you’ll love to look at every day.

our most asked question is what color of paint we used for our coop. We used accessible beige by sherwin williams for the base and moth wing by sherwin williams for the trim.

for the front porch light fixture we bought an affordable solar light from tractor supply. it gives the perfect soft light for the porch. we bought a black solar light and spray painted it gold to match the look we wanted to go for.

for the front door we painted it using a light tan paint color, (you can use any) once the paint was dry we lightly went over it with a decorative glaze in java brown using a bristle brush to give it the look we wanted. we also used this same technique for base of the front porch.

we bought a solar automatic coop door off facebook marketplace — you can buy online as well.
